What Do You Want From Me?!

There are times in life when you find yourself asking, “What do you want from me?” Perhaps you have a child who won’t stop crying. Maybe you have a clingy dog that won’t leave your side and you can’t figure out what they need. Maybe the smoke detector won’t stop beeping in the middle of the night. Or, perhaps you have employees who just don’t seem to be happy with anything you do! Employers are struggling to not only attract but also retain employees who are engaged. According to Gallup, employee engagement continues to drop each year. Thus far, in 2022, only 32% of our workforce is engaged. These surveys provide you an opportunity to retain more employees and get people committed and happy at work. Asking employees what they want to see empowers employees to be a part of improvement and change instead of being stuck in old negative ways. Employee engagement surveys can be easy to administer and a great tool for assembling action plans for the future. Employees want to be heard. They want to know that their company cares about them. Asking employees to complete a survey is a great place to start! Do not be fooled though, just asking is not enough! Employers need to be receptive to their ideas and committed to making some changes.
