Engage Your Wisconsin Workforce with Employee Surveys
What Do You Want From Me?!
There are times in life when you find yourself asking, “What do you want from me?” Perhaps you have a child who won’t stop crying. Maybe you have a clingy dog that won’t leave your side and you can’t figure out what they need. Maybe the smoke detector won’t stop beeping in the middle of the night. Or, perhaps you have employees who just don’t seem to be happy with anything you do! Employers are struggling to not only attract but also retain employees who are engaged. Have you ever thought about asking them what they want?
Only 32% of the workforce in the United States is engaged at work.
According to Gallup, employee engagement continues to drop each year. Thus far, in 2022, only 32% of our workforce is engaged. This means only 32% of our workforce is happy at work and is committed to the company. Employee engagement is comprised of many areas. Leadership, quality of life at work, pay and benefits are just a few topics to consider as an employer. So, what should you do to keep your employees engaged and staying at your company? Oh, and what about the other 68% of the workforce that is not engaged?
Ask & Act!
Employers should consider asking their employees what they like at work and what can be improved upon. Employee engagement surveys allow employers to get the facts straight from their employees. These surveys provide you an opportunity to retain more employees and get people committed and happy at work. Asking employees what they want to see empowers employees to be a part of improvement and change instead of being stuck in old negative ways. Employee engagement surveys can be easy to administer and a great tool for assembling action plans for the future. Employees want to be heard. They want to know that their company cares about them. Asking employees to complete a survey is a great place to start! Do not be fooled though, just asking is not enough! Employers need to be receptive to their ideas and committed to making some changes.
